La Maison de Rosalie is the ideal starting point to discover Aubrac area. Hiking from Montgros (Aubrac plateau center) is easy whatever you prefer: walking, skiing or mountain biking.
The history of this house started at the end of 19th century: Rosalie, a native from Aubrac, raised her 15 brothers and sisters; she remained an “old maid” and decided to welcome and treat with open arms pilgrims travelling to Santiago de Compostela. She died very old…People would like that this house brings good luck!

Gastronomy at the inn :
Wherever you stay, hotel or rest house, you’ll eat at the inn. We’ll share a good and diversified food: our cooking is often quoted as an example of regional, simple and delightful rustic cuisine by many guides and press articles.
Meats, trout and cheese come mainly from Lozère. Homemade pastries are often baked with local blueberries, blackberries or raspberries.
You’ll discover the « tastes of Aubrac » thanks to amazing recipes (Aubrac stew with gingerbread, Braised veal with chanterelles, Walnut pilgrim pie or Crème brulée with Aubrac honey…).
We remain faithful to Aligot tradition, a recipe made of fresh mashed potatoes, fresh garlic and fresh tome cheese from our cooperative in Laguiole.
